NaNoWriMo Box

A small keepsake box created for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) for the Night of Writing Dangerously. Made from walnut, maple, and purple heart wood, the lid is inlaid with the NaNoWriMo viking helmet design, and the box is perfectly sized for storing sticky notes with your story ideas.

NaNoWriMo VIKING HELMET BOX

NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, is an organization that I love. I've participated in NaNoWriMo in November multiple times in the past, and I really love what they do for writers, particularly young writers, around the world. In 2017, I was honored to be able to make a custom box for the Night of Writing Dangerously (an annual fundraiser in San Francisco) to be used in their raffle. I ultimately made two boxes (the other of which you can see here), but this one was my personal favorite.

The box is made from walnut, with maple panels for the top and bottom. The lid is inlaid with the NaNoWriMo emblem Viking Helmet using purpleheart, and the whole box is sealed with a coat of protective lacquer.
